چکیده
Oporto and the Douro: views monuments, cujo texto e arranjo gráfico ficaram a cargo de Frederic P. Marjay, foi uma obra editada em 1955 pela livraria Bertrand, Lisboa, Portugal. Ocupa um lugar despercebido entre as várias publicações propaganda turística portuguesa que veiculavam ideia país pitoresco progressista, começou ser gizado Política do Espírito por volta 1932, mas com raízes nos últimos anos da Monarquia. O livro, parte composta ao modo álbum, chama atenção pelas suas fotografias preto branco página inteira: vistas locais, monumentos, reprodução pinturas históricas retratos tipos sociais, marcadas ritmo contrastante brancos negros, características pictorialistas. Analisar o obra, compreender, através dos fotógrafos das fotografias, os significados deste trabalho (propagandístico, político artístico), refletindo sobre temáticas veiculadas, é nosso objetivo principal.
